Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan

The 2025-2029 Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP) is a five-year roadmap for enhancing parks, trails, and recreational opportunities in our community. Approved by the City Council on February 18, 2025, this plan was shaped by resident input and guides future investments in park improvements, new amenities, and outdoor spaces that support a vibrant and active Sun Prairie.

The CORP is built around eight key goals that focus on expanding and maintaining high-quality parks, improving trail connectivity, enhancing accessibility and inclusivity, preserving natural resources, and strengthening community partnerships. These goals will help ensure that Sun Prairie’s parks continue to meet the needs of residents as the city grows.

The plan also includes recommendations for parkland acquisitions, new and upgraded amenities, and targeted improvements at existing parks throughout the city. From playground updates to trail extensions and new recreation opportunities, the CORP provides a strategic vision for the future of our outdoor spaces.
