The City of Sun Prairie is committed to providing high-quality transit service to all residents living within the community. The City is currently served by three fixed-route bus routes, as well as Paratransit services for those who qualify.
Metro Transit Fixed-Route Service
The City of Sun Prairie is served by two local routes, and one route to Madison.
Paratransit
Metro paratransit is a shared-ride service that uses a variety of companies and vehicles to respond to individual ride requests. Paratransit vehicles can be identified by a blue Metro Transit sticker near the entrance.
This Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit service is for individuals with disabilities who cannot use Metro’s accessible fixed-route bus service. The paratransit service area, hours, and days of service closely match fixed-route schedules.
Park and Ride
The Sun Prairie Park & Ride lot is located at 2751 O'Keeffe Ave, at the corner of Reiner Road and O'Keeffe Avenue. This lot provides access to Metro Transit Service during peak commuting periods, as well as provides access to regional bicycle trails.
RoundTrip
The RoundTrip program connects individuals and employers in the Madison region with convenient alternatives to driving alone. Make your commute to work or school more affordable and enjoyable by using RoundTrip's online ride matching platform to search and connect with other carpoolers, state vanpool routes, bike buddies, Metro Transit routes, and park-and-rides.
RoundTrip also provides a hub of commuter resources and connections to transportation providers in the Madison region, as well as an Emergency Ride Home Program to ensure that you are never stranded at work in an emergency when you regularly bus, bike, or car/vanpool to work.
RoundTrip is a program of the Greater Madison MPO and receives financial support from the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Dane County, City of Madison, Metro Transit, and UW-Madison.
