Citizens Fire Academy

This is an interactive program designed to familiarize the citizens of the areas we serve with the personnel, equipment, and operations of the Fire Department. It also provides a forum for the department and citizens to share information and concerns. The CFA is dedicated to increasing public awareness and creating a safer environment at home and in the workplace, and it is FUN!  

Topics include:   

  • History and overview of the Fire Department 
  • Fire Prevention & Public Education   
  • Fire apparatus/Engine operations 
  • Fire gear & Emergency Medical Services 
  • Incident Command
  • Auto Extrication  
  • Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus

Enrollment is Open for the 2019 Year!

The application is now available for the third annual Citizens Fire Academy (CFA)! The CFA begins Wednesday, May 22, 2019 and runs every Wednesday for six weeks, ending on June 26, 2019. This is an interactive program designed to familiarize the citizens of the areas we serve with the personnel, equipment, and operations of the Fire Department. It also provides a forum for the department and citizens to share information and concerns. The CFA is dedicated to increasing public awareness and creating a safer environment at home and in the workplace, and it is FUN!

Participants must be 20 years of age and reside or own a business in the City of Sun Prairie, Town of Sun Prairie, Town of Bristol, or Town of Burke.
