Administration: The time and date for the 2022 Multicultural Fair has been announced!
Clerk's Office: The Clerk’s Office would like all voters to know how to request an absentee ballot. The fastest method for requesting an absentee ballot is using MyVote.WI.Gov.
Community Development: The Sun Prairie Business Improvement District is pleased to announce that Adventure Day, an event to support Sunshine Place in memory of Sun Prairie Fire Captain Cory Barr, is coming back to Downtown Sun Prairie for its second year!
Community Spotlight: 160 South Street, an historic Sun Prairie building and current home to Prairie Phoenix Academy, will be closed permanently in the fall of 2022.
Engingeering: Participating in the Dane County Adopt-A-Storm Drain Program is a simple act that can help prevent localized flooding and keeps our lakes, rivers and streams clean.
Parks, Recreation and Forestry: Fun Prairie is a place where all are welcome, and everybody is encouraged to take advantage of all of the FUN to be had in our community!
Public Safety: It is important to enjoy this activity as safely and responsibly as possible. Fire pits are legal without a burning permit so long as they meet certain requirements.
Public Works: Starting Monday, July 11, N. Bristol Street will be closed for construction from Windsor Street to Klubertanz Drive.
Sun Prairie Media Center: 103.5 The Sun is turning seven this year, and we are throwing ourselves a birthday party to celebrate the launch of Sun Prairie’s community radio station.
Sun Prairie Public Library: There’s a reading program for everyone – babies through teens! Register for the Summer Reading Program in person or online anytime between now and August 6th.
Sun Prairie Utilities: Many of us have higher utility bills during the summer and winter months and lower bills during the spring and fall due to the cooling and heating of our homes. These unknown fluctuations can make household budgeting difficult, if this sounds familiar to you, then SPU Budget Billing might be good for you.

Pop Up Community Paint Project
This past spring, Dane Arts Mural Arts worked with students involved in Prairie Music & Arts programming at Community Schools sites (Westside, CH Bird, Patrick Marsh, Prairie Phoenix Academy) to create the design for a community mural that will be installed in Sheehan Park this fall.
The theme of the mural is inclusion, and the design is complete. We are inviting ALL community members to help to paint this mural. We will have two Pop Up Community Paint days next week - July 12 at Vandenberg and July 13 at Wetmore, 10am-1pm on both days.
We hope you can make it out to add some color to the mural!!

Meet Rohey Malick Lowe!
We are so honored and grateful for the opportunity we had last week to host a welcome reception for Rohey Malick Lowe Official, Mayoress of Banjul, The Gambia. Joining her in attendance were local Gambian community members. The conversation was centered on sharing strengths, struggles, and insights about each of our communities. We thank Representative Samba Baldeh for arranging this meeting.
Fun Fact: Rohey Malick Lowe is the first female elected to serve in this role.
