The City Recycle Center, located at 1798 South Bird Street accepts materials that are not collected curbside. The facility is available for use by City of Sun Prairie residents receiving City-sponsored automated curbside refuse/recycle collections. You must have a permit to use the facility--apply here. The Recycle Center accepts the following materials:
- Automotove Batteries
- Automotive Motor Oil
- Brush (sticks and branches)
- Cardboard (flattened)
- Computers and related equipment
- Electronics (toasters, blenders, hair dryers, etc.)
- Fluorescent Lightbulbs and Tubes
- Motor Oil Filters
- Oil Absorbent Materials
- Televisions (NO console TVs)
- Yard Waste (grass, leaves, garden waste)
- Vehicle Tires (remove rims)

Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
December 9, 2013 through April 5, 2014
Monday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon
These free permits will grant you quick access to the Recycle Center, which is for use by City of Sun Prairie residents who receive City-sponsored automated curbside refuse/recycle collections.
Once your completed application has been submitted and approved you will your permit in the mail along with an information sheet showing hours of operation and a listing of materials that can be taken to the Recycle Center.
