Need taxi service? Call 837-5550

Sun Prairie’s taxi program gives residents an opportunity to travel at reasonably priced rates for trips that originate within the city. The taxi does not run on fixed routes like a bus service, but provides curb to curb transportation. It’s a shared-ride service, which means that passengers may not be riding alone.

Corner Service

Sun Prairie Taxi is offering a new service beginning on the opening day of school and available on all regular school days. It is called CORNER SERVICE. Transportation is available from specified street intersections to both middle schools and the high school in the morning and the reverse in the afternoon.

The cost per ride per person is $1.25 each way and individuals are asked to bring dollar bills. Drivers will have ride tickets available for sale in the vans. The cost of the ticket is $12.50 and can be used for 10 corner service rides. The cost of a regular one-way taxi ride for a high school or middle school student is $2.00.

Call 837-5550 to sign up or to learn more.

Lower Fares for Income Eligible

Residents who qualify will receive reduced rates.  Beginning January of 2008, we are moving to a new system where eligible residents will be given an identification card that you will need to present to the taxi driver each time you use the cab.  You pay the fare directly to the driver.  (This is instead of using pre-purchased punch cards as in the past.)
