Pet Exercise Area Information

Dog Park

  • 11 Acres – Fenced

  • Parking for 32 cars

Permits: In order to use the Sun Prairie Pet Exercise Area, a permit must be purchased. 2008 Dog Park tags are $23.00. Additional tags are available for $6.00 each for more than one dog. Daily permits are available on a self-registration basis at the site for $4.00 per day.

You may obtain your permit in person at the City Clerks office in the Municipal Building, 300 E. Main Street (a good time to get one is when you obtain your annual dog license).

Annual permits are valid from January 1 December 31 at all Dane County and City of Madison parks!

Hours of operation: Open from dawn to dusk seven days a week year around.

Directions to the facility: The pet exercise area is located south of Sheehan Park on S. Bird Street. Proceed south over the railroad tracks and go over the top of the hill. The facility is located on the left side of the road and is marked with signage.
