Do contractors have to be licensed to work on my home?
If the contractor pulls the permit they do have to provide proof of credentials. Electrical contractors also need to be separately licensed with the city. If the homeowner pulls the permit and is doing the work themselves (as long as they both own and occupy the residence) then they do not have to be licensed.
