Upcoming Plan Commission Items

In an effort to allow residents to become more informed about proposed development projects and other zoning matters, application materials are typically available a few weeks prior to scheduled Plan Commission meetings. Regular meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Sun Prairie Municipal Building at 300 East Main Street.

Special meetings are called on occasion when deemed necessary. Agendas and meeting materials are typically issued about a week in advance of the meetings. Please find links to upcoming meeting agendas and active development applications below.

The City Plan Commission is a 9-member body consisting of the Mayor, 2 alderpersons, 1 member of the Park & Recreation Commission, 1 member of the Sun Prairie area school district board, and 4 citizens.  The Plan Commission serves as an advisory body to the City Council, making recommendations regarding zoning amendments, planned developments, conditional use permits, subdivision plats, and most certified survey maps.  The Plan Commission is also responsible for the preparation and recommendation of the city's comprehensive plan.

Public Hearing:  KRAEMER DEVELOPMENT:  requesting approval of an Amendment to the Comprehensive Plan to change the land use designation for property located at the northwest corner of W. Main Street and N. Grand Avenue from Institutional and Mixed Residential to Commercial.

Public Hearing:  KRAEMER DEVELOPMENT: requesting approval of a Planned Development District General Development Plan (GDP) to establish commercial and single-family residential uses on property located north of W. Main Street, between N. Grand Avenue and Legacy Way.

Public Meeting:  KRAEMER DEVELOPMENT:  requesting approval of a Certified Survey Map (CSM) to consolidate Lots 13-27 and 29-38 within the Sunset Estates subdivision into three lots on property located north of W. Main Street, west of N. City Station Drive.

Public Hearing:  PARK 151, LLC:  requesting approval of an Amendment of the Official Zoning Map to rezone approximately 36 acres of land located south of Innovation Way and west of Reiner Road from RH-35ac to Suburban Industrial (SI).

PARK 151, LLC:  requesting approval of a Certified Survey Map (CSM) to create two lots and one outlot with right-of-way dedication located south of Innovation Way and west of Reiner Road.

Public Hearing:  SUMMIT CREDIT UNION:  requesting approval of an amendment of the approved Menard's General Development Plan (GDP), and a Precise Implementation Plan (PIP) to construct a 4,000 square foot financial institution on property located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Blue Aster Boulevard and S. Grand Avenue.

Public Hearing:  NEIL TRAUBENBERG:  requesting approval of a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to allow a 6-foot high fence within a required street yard setback, exceeding the maximum height limitation of 4-feet, on property located at 2076 Stonehaven Drive.

Public Meeting:  VERIDIAN HOMES PB, LLC:  requesting approval of a Replat of Lot 540, Smith's Crossing to create six lots for the construction of twin homes.

Public Meeting:  SUGAR RIVER PIZZA:  requesting approval of a Planned Development District Precise Implementation Plan (PIP) to construct a 9,000 square foot restaurant located at 1390 Cabela Drive.
