The 1924 red brick building still serves the community as the headquarters of the Museum. Past uses of the building include a library, city offices, the village council chamber, World War II Red Cross center, and as the original site of the Colonial Club.
Admittance to the Museum is free and there is also no charge for
residents taking part in Museum sponsored activities. Donations are
accepted and always greatly appreciated.

We post old photos and short stories of people, places and businesses in the Sun Prairie area. We even have an occasional contest to identify the places or people in old photographs. Like us on Facebook and join the fun.
Tours of the Museum
You can tour the Museum during operating hours. Admittance to the museum is free and there is also no charge for residents taking part in museum sponsored activities. Donations are accepted and always greatly appreciated.

Museum exhibits change annually. You are welcome to spend a few minutes, or an hour. Add the Sun Prairie Museum to your family activities when you are in downtown Sun Prairie.
Holiday Tree Lighting & the Christmas Walk
The Friday after Thanksgiving the Christmas Walk and Lighting of the Holiday Tree is held in front of the museum. The museum creates seasonal exhibits for the celebration.
January Through April
Museum displays are closed from January to April but is open by appointment for research, volunteer work and donations.
