The Sun Prairie EMS department proudly serves the City of Sun Prairie and Town of Bristol, as well as neighboring areas. In total, Sun Prairie EMS responds to an area approximately 46.5 square miles with over 35,000 residents.
Operating out of 2 stations positioned on the east and west sides of the city, the response areas are evenly divided to ensure the fastest response time when an ambulance responds from its home station. In the City of Sun Prairie, Bird Street divides east from west, while the majority of Bristol is divided by Norway Road.
Sun Prairie EMS participates in the Dane County ALS Intergovernmental Agreement, which allows for the closest ambulance to be sent to high acuity incidents regardless of jurisdiction. This agreement also allows Sun Prairie to provide intercept service both Marshall EMS and DeForest Fire/EMS when the patient requires a higher level of pre-hospital care.
