Early Spring? Six More Weeks of Winter?
Come and join Jimmy the Goundhog, Mayor John Murray, City staff, friends, and neighbors for the annual Groundhog Day prognostication on Thursday, February 2 in Cannery Square in downtown Sun Prairie! Jimmy makes his prediction at sunrise.
Stop by the Market Street Diner, 110 Market St. in downtown Sun Prairie, before or after the official ceremonies for a Groundhog Day breakfast buffet featuring French toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, and coffee - for only $6.50 for adults and $3.00 for kids 12 and under. Breakfast will be served from 6:00 a.m.

A MedDrop box is now available in the lobby of the Police Department, 300 East Main Street. The lobby is open 24/7. Drop off prescription and over-the-counter medication (pills, liquids, creams), pet meds, medication samples, vitamins, inhalers and nebulizer solution. Click on the MedDrop logo for more info.

Street Tree Trimming
The Parks, Forestry and Public Works Department will be trimming street trees during the fall/winter months. Trimming shapes the tree, promotes health and development, and prevents damage to limbs by snowplows, street sweepers, and mail delivery and refuse and recycle trucks.

Electronic Collections at the Recycle Center
The Recycle Center now accepts electronics from City residents who receive City-sponsored automated curbside refuse/recycle collections. Items accepted include: TVs, computers, printers, fax machines, telephones, DVDs, VCRs, and DVRs. The Recycle Center winter hours are Mondays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 to 4 p.m. For more info, click on the picture or call Public Works at 837-3050. Our Mayor and City Council are asking every citizen to participate in a new program called "Take Pride Sun Prairie". We are asking citizens who see properties with unmowed lawns, weed violations, or junk on the curb to report your observations to the City. Please report other problems you see that could be code violations or indicate criminal activity. Swift action will be taken to correct the problems reported. To learn more click here.
